[ENGLISH] GOOGLE MAPS BRINGS LIVE TRAFFIC UPDATES AND TRANSIT FOR MALAYSIA

Google recently being a little bit active in Malaysia. After introducing YouTube Malaysia before this, they also added support for Live Traffic Update and the public transit support. Together with it, Google also brings the Bahasa Malaysia support on their popular map service. However, for the time being, the support for real-time traffic conditions only available at the major area only.

To get the access for the real-time traffic conditions on Google Maps, users only need to enable the Traffic layer, and then can see the real-time updates, indicated by colours, which is green for smooth flowing, yellow for slow moving and red for congestion. As for the public transit, the supports includes the direction using public transports, including buses, LRT, Komuter and Monorail.

This also may indicate that many more functions which is targeted local market on the Google Maps will be available soon. One of it which is awaited for a long time is the StreetView function. Google Malaysia last year started to gather data for it, and targeted to unveil the support on StreetView for Malaysia later this year.
