As we have noted before, Google has just published a localized version of YouTube targeted for Malaysian audience, which can be accessed through YouTube.com.my, YouTube.MY, or even by choosing manually from the provided section in YouTube. YouTube Malaysia, allows users in Malaysia and other parts of the world to easily discover local content and relevant videos, while giving local content creators more exposure in Malaysia and to the world.
The launch also brings some extra features of YouTube to the local audience, including the YouTube Trends and YouTube Partner Program. Google expected to conduct a press conference regarding the launch of YouTube Malaysia around 6pm today, where we will get more details on the launch and the content partners involved with the launch in Malaysia. In the invite, Google shared that over 1 million Malaysians watch more than 1 million hours of videos on YouTube everyday.
Prior to launching Youtube Malaysia, Google has launched localized version of YouTube in some of the countries in Asia Pasific, including Philippines and Singapore, in 2011
